How to make star bread

If you want to make a delicious bread at home with a soft texture, I suggest you try star bread. This bread can be given different flavors. But with Nutella or chocolate it is great for breakfast. Ingredients for star bread

Instant dry yeast 2 tbsp
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup milk (180 ml)
1/4 cup unsalted butter (60 g)
1 large egg
2 and 1/3 cups of flour (290 g)
1 teaspoon salt
Powdered sugar 2 tbsp
Ingredients used on bread:
1 egg yolk
Milk 1 tbsp

How to make star bread

Step One: Make Yeast

If you have a mixer at home, use it to make dough. But if you do not have , bring a large bowl and mix the sugar and yeast in it. Heat the milk on the heat or in the microwave and add the sugar and yeast mixture. Stir gently to combine. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and wait 5 to 10 minutes for it to be ready. For a yeast bread it must be fresh and of good quality.

Step 2: Prepare the bread dough

After this time add the butter, eggs, flour and salt. If using the device, mix them slowly for 3 minutes. Otherwise mix gently by hand. Try to make a ball inside the dough bowl. If you think the dough sticks to your hands, add another 1 to 3 tablespoons of flour. Finally you should have a very soft dough.

Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Place the pan in a warm environment to double the volume of the dough. It takes about 60 to 90 minutes. To create a warm place, I suggest turning on the stove at 150 degrees Fahrenheit and turning it off when it heats up. Then put the bowl of dough in it and close the oven lid.

Step 3: Open and fill the dough layers

Spread greaseproof paper on the baking tray. Roll out the dough to remove the bubbles, then sprinkle some flour on the work table. Divide the dough into four equal parts. Open each piece of dough with a rolling pin into a circle half a centimeter thick and 20 cm in diameter. Place the first circle on the baking sheet.

If its circular shape is lost, fix it by hand. Then fill it with the ingredients you like. You can use Nutella chocolate. Put the other two parts of the dough on the first layer and fill with the same ingredients. Do not put anything on the last or fourth layer.

For this step, place a small round bowl or glass with a diameter of 6 to 7 cm in the center of the circle. Press the glass to create an indentation. This circle becomes the center of the star.

Then, using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut 16 equal slices from the sides towards the edge of the glass.

Then lift the two slices. Gently rotate them twice in the opposite direction. Until the dough is twisted. Then glue the ends of the slices together and press. After doing this for all the slices, your star bread should have 8 fills. Cover the prepared bread with a napkin or aluminum foil and rest for 20 minutes.

Step 5: Put the bread dough in the oven

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius). Before placing the star bread in the oven, spread the egg yolk and milk mixture on it. Baking the bread takes about 20 to 25 minutes.

This bread will be brown and shiny. (If the flame on the top of your oven is separate, turn it on at the end for two or three minutes.) When you see brown on the bread, turn off the oven and take the tray out of the oven. Allow 5 minutes to cool. After 5 minutes, sprinkle powdered sugar on the bread with a sieve and enjoy eating it. This bread can be stored for 1 to 2 days at room temperature and 4 to 5 days in the refrigerator.

Spread 1 tablespoon of very soft butter on all three rings. Then mix 3 tablespoons of brown or white sugar with 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, 2 tablespoons of chopped walnuts and some crushed dates in a bowl and pour over the layers of dough.

Spread the butter on the bread

  • Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the layers of dough. Mix together 3 tablespoons brown or white sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 2 teaspoons orange peel and 3 tablespoons finely chopped blueberries. Then spread them evenly on the layers of dough.

To use these middle ingredients, you need to reduce the sugar in the dough to 1 tablespoon. Spread 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce or pesto sauce on the layers of dough. Fill each layer with chopped cheese, fragrant vegetables or chopped bell peppers.

You can also use apple butter, pumpkin butter or peanut butter.

If you use salted butter, remove the salt from the recipe.
